A guided tour of Hepple Estate is a magical and most memorable experience.  Come rain or shine there is much to see, learn and enjoy – and let’s face it there is no such thing as bad weather when you’re wearing the right clothing.

Explore Hepple Wilds and experience the untamed, raw and rugged  beauty of the Northumberland National Park.  Learn how Hepple uses natural processes and a light-touch management to create a ecologically biodiverse landscape.   Hepple have embraced ‘managed wilding’ to create a food chain that supports diverse vegetation and the insect population to host some wonderful charismatic and rare species, providing the environment for them to breed naturally.

Hepple Wilds is home to the ancient juniper grove and the botanicals – Hawthorn, Douglas Fir, Lovage, Bog Myrtle and Blackcurrant leaves used to create Hepple Spirits.

You’ll learn how Hepple Spirits uses a triple distillation method making it one of the most innovative distilleries in the UK.  It is difficult to believe that such a small distillery produces so much to supply private outlets across the world.

Hepple have a number of hidden walks to choose from, please click here to take a look.

Private tours are available to guests staying at The Old Rectory and The Kirkstyle.  The tours can be tailored to your parties preferences and can include a visit to the Hidden Bar in the Wilds and a homemade rustic Hepple lunch.  Please email [email protected] or call 01434 671526 for further information.

Nenthead Mines is a historic place at Nenthead, near Alston, in Cumbria, UK. This remote valley is covered by remains from the lead and zinc mining industry of the North Pennines, including mine entrances, watercourses, dressing-floors and buildings. The site is famous for its geology and is notable for rare lichens and plants growing on the metal-rich mine dumps. Most of the valley is a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
